It's like catching lightning, the chances of finding someone like you.

The other night, a storm was brewing not too far away from my place. My dad brought that to my attention (I'm usually oblivious to everything happening outside of my room lol), and being the closeted photography enthusiast he is, prompted me to get pictures of it. I was a step ahead of him and had my camera out already. I'm going to be honest and say that I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. At that point, the trial-and-error process was my best friend.
At the end of it all, I arrived at the conclusion that getting lightning shots are a great pain in the ass. Especially when you have no idea what you're doing *points at self*

Firstly, I decided to go with a low shutter speed, but the results were severely disappointing:

But then I figured that the lightning flashes weren't appearing often enough, which is why I ended up with shots like those. In the span of 20-30 seconds, there would only be about 2 lightning flashes (and that's only if I was lucky), which rendered the long shutter useless.

In an attempt to curb the previous error, I upped the shutter speed and resorted to the tedious way of clicking on the shutter for whenever a lightning flash appeared. These were what I got at first:

These were definitely a vast improvement from the earlier tries, but still not quite there yet.

And what do you know? A few more frames later, I managed to capture the following shots:

Okay, to be honest, I was only satisfied with the last picture after post-process. The original capture did not look as appealing, and I was not satisfied. Lol.

But all is well.

Of the iPhone

I WILL NOT ABANDON THIS BLOG.

So, I got an iPhone 4s but it's been a bitch to get a new sim card. But of course, the various photography apps have been fun, so enjoy!

p/s: Does anyone know anything about jailbreaking a 4s? I've tried, but apparently there's some stock firmware missing. Even after downloading it twice. Help?

Still able to fit into my 2005's Campori shirt :3

Breakfast at Oldtown. The service there never fails to disappoint.
Finally got my hands on the book! Can't wait until I get to read it :)

There will be a separate post on my lightning shots. But let me tell you - it was a pain in the ass.

"Equity is irrelevant in the modern world. Discuss."

The law assignment was given out a week ago, and obviously I had put it off until the last minute. It was the midnight before assignment deadline, and I was barely half done. So what did I decide to do? Take some long exposure shots, of course!

Pictured above: Unfinished law assignment.

Another picture with 3 of me! :D
Did I manage to successfully make the picture creepier?

Yeap. Procrastination at its best. But I reckon I can do better. With the long-exposure shots I mean. Not procrastination. At this point it's impossible for me to become any better at procrastination.
But hey, I got the assignment done ultimately! With a few hours sleep to spare! Keyword: few.

On another note, I think this incident has inspired me to do a photoshoot with long-exposure :D But being the procrastinator I am... That's probably not going to happen for a while... We'll see how things goes :)

When we're not in class, we're exploring KL.

In the past week, Alena and I took the...
Monorail to Sungei Wang to get her ink done. An impromptu one, if I may add.
KTM to MidValley to get work (and our nails) done. TGIF's value lunch is such a steal!
LRT to KLCC where we were shooed by the guards, so we decided to go to Aquaria.
KTM to the Planetarium where we got soaked and I fell on my ass. The anti-gravity room was trippyyyy.
Monorail to Pavilion for coffee. I bought American Psycho and The Help with my book voucher.

Ah, all good fun. More adventures to come, hopefully!

The following pictures are from our trip to KLCC:

"The only place I want to get lost in is a book."

Had a simple outing with the wife to Mid Valley. After lunch, we went to almost all the sportswear store there is in MidValley and Gardens to look for a particular jersey for a particular someone, only to be disappointed. Since he was tired from football training and there wasn't much to do anyway, we decided to just chill in Borders. Yes, for most of it, that's where we were. We just sat by the fiction section and talked. And I personally think that was sufficient, just some spousal bonding time c: Plus, he had a lot of fun poking my fats (I kid you not), and we discovered we have almost the same feet size. LOL..

Oh, and I spent my first RM50 book voucher on two Jodi Picoult books! :) The purchase was subsequently followed by me carelessly leaving my planner on the counter, along with the RM150 worth of vouchers in it -_-

Because the Red Devils beat Liverpool 2-1 that very night :)

Because he just can't be seen in a bookstore.

Intricate

The greenery around my home is like a haven for cobwebs.

Exhibit A.

Random flower shot!

So yes, decided to have a go at cobweb shots yet again. Not the best, but I think it's a significant improvement from the first time, no? c:
